Product Reviews and Recommendations #2

My last product review post mostly covered snow gear with the exception of GenerationUCAN, which I use in the gym and on the trails year round.  I’m a little over 4 months through my off-snow training and have been using some new gym gear for the duration.  As mentioned in the last product post I’m not under any contract to promote for these companies.  I actually wear this apparel because of function, comfort and they hold up under extreme abuse during training sessions.  By sharing this info, my hope is you can also have an improved exercise experience by using some or all of the items.
Reliable Gear Should Handle Heavy Training Abuse
Reebok Custom Crossfit Lifter (U-Form)
Pro’s:
        -        Moldable heel/ankle region for better fit (can be molded several times)
        -        Reasonable support on Oly and Squat/DL/OH moves while providing enough flexibility for lunges, and other challenge-style exercises (tire flips, sled push, box jumps, etc.)
        -        Don’t have to change shoes before/after Oly lifts
        -        Comfortable

Con’s:
        -        Not quite as stable through the sole as my Adidas PowerLift 2.0 shoes (though set 2 new 25 rep squat PR’s with them so far)
        -        Custom version is expensive

Custom + Stock Reebok All-Terrain Series Super
Coaching Version
Trail Version
Pro’s:
        -        Solid grip on loose terrain (trail running)
        -        Stable over variable terrain (trail running)
        -        Light weight
        -        Water drainage ports
        -        Comfortable (have been wearing these for coaching and a ‘stock’ pair for trail running)

Con’s:
        -        Custom version is expensive
        -        Tongue could be slightly larger (width and length)
        -        Tongue slips off to the side during normal use (somewhat simple fix – see pic)
Tongue Shift "Fix"
Reebok One Board Short (variety of styles)
Board/Compression Short Combo
Pro’s:
        -        No movement restriction
        -        Takes a beating
        -        Light weight
        -        Comfortable

Con’s:
        -        Difficult to find the right fit and shorts are sized different compared to other board short styles (highly recommend trying on shorts before ordering from the online site as a large in one style may not fit the same as a large in another)
        -        Limited options for versions without graphics (sometimes just basic black is what you want)

Reebok One Compression Short
Board/Compression Short Combo
Pro’s:
        -        Solid all-around fit
        -        Ideal combination of support, breathability and comfort
        -        No movement restriction
        -        Basic colors are available

Con’s:
        -        None

Rogue Wrist Straps
Pro’s:
        -        Solid wrist support for pressing and overhead movements
        -        Fairly easy to adjust and put on
        -        Inexpensive
        -        Can’t really call these ultra-comfortable (not that they’re designed for that either), but they are not restrictive in terms of range of motion and don’t feel bad at all during training use

Con’s:
-        None
